Shedloads

Indygamer’s new logoSorry for the long gap, folks. I’ve been wrestling with changing to a different ISP and also trying to sort something out about my laptop (which has died again for no apparent reason Crying or Very sad). Still, there’s a little bit of progress to report on, which can only be good news…

Mordor: Return to Dejenol is doodling along at a respectable rate, although the development log is lurching forward by fits and spurts, mostly because either (a) someone forgot to update it (*coff* not me, no, oh no no…), or (b) there wasn’t actually any work done on a given day. It’s hard not to be amazed by the shedloads of work that seems to get done on projects like Dwarf Fortress every day…

However, as I was saying, progress is being made toward a data editor, powered by MaxGUI and the handy interface designer, GUIde. Since the editor will ultimately be made available alongside the game, a lot of effort is being put into ensuring that it’s as functional but also user friendly as possible.

Knytt Stories #1In other news, Independent Gaming has had a facelift and Tim’s expanded his group of contributors, meaning more news than ever before! Also, Knytt Stories - a game most people will immediately recognise as being made by Nifflas - should be available later this month, with the claim that it’ll be more challenging than Knytt. It will also support user-created worlds, so get those ideas flowing!
